Misty Mountain Gorillas - Mountain Gorillas and Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 1
On the arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe town/Kampala on B&B basis.
Day 2
After breakfast we drive south-west of Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
We stop at the equator for photographs and in Mbarara for lunch. The journey will take you through large banana plantations, papyrus woodland and terraced landscapes of the ‘Switzerland of Africa’. There is a lot to see and many fabulous picture opportunities. In the late afternoon we will reach Bwindi in the south of the country for dinner and our overnight stop. We enjoy a well prepared evening meal and a good night’s rest in comfortable accommodation in anticipation of an exciting new day.
Day 3
Following breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off through the designated tracks, used exclusively to control our impact on the environment while searching for these impressive and humble giants. We take packed lunches for the trip as it is difficult to determine how long it will take for us to meet up with these giant primates. The time taken might range between 2 to as much as 5 hours depending on the movement of the primates. A reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. The hike can be quite tiresome, but an encounter with these gentle relatives of man simply erases any thought of weariness and of the walk to get there. They are simply awe-inspiring! We return down the mountain slope for Bwindi, a well-earned dinner and overnight in comfortable accommodation.
Day 4:
We wake up for a cup of tea or coffee and breakfast before our transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is the most popular park in Uganda and is located in western Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Bushenyi and Rukungiri. Its location is pproximately 375 kilometers, by road, southwest of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city. The drive will take you through the Ishasha sector of the park, famous for its tree climbing Lions, the males with their distinctive black manes. Reaching the park headquarters in the afternoon we complete the formalities, take refreshments and board a boat for a cruise on the slow flowing Kazinga channel a shallow channel that connects lakes Edward and George. Both of these lakes occur in the Queen Elizabeth National Park and are home to a wide diversity of animals, Birds, Reptiles and aquatic creatures, a huge bio-diversity hotspot not to be missed. The launch cruise will reward you with game such as Hippo, Elephants, Buffalo and a wide variety of birds on the shores. We return to the lodge for a well prepared dinner and overnight in the Queen Elizabeth national Park?
Day 5
Pre-dawn wake up for a quick cup of coffee before embarking on an early morning game drive in our 4 wheel drive game drive vehicle. The drive will take us through the renowned Kasenyi sector and the Queen’s mile, sections of the park. Two areas of open Woodland savanna offering wonderful sightings of big game such as Lion, Elephant, Hyena, Giant Forest Hog, Bushbuck, Warthog, Civet and the possibility of the shy and elusive Aardvark and Leopards may be seen as well as a stunning array of birds and reptiles. After the game drive we head back to Kampala, dinner and our overnight accommodation.
Day 6
Day reserved for flight back home.

Murchison Falls National Park

The Murchison National Park is the largest National Park in Uganda and lies in the north western portion of the country spreading inland from the shore of Lake Albert around the Victoria Nile. The Budongo forest is in the South, the Rift Valley escarpment and open woodlands are in the Northern part of the park. The Murchison Falls National Park protects a huge chunk of untamed African savannah bisected by the mighty River Nile which tumbles through a 7 meter gorge forming the most powerful waterfall in the world; this mighty river produces a thunderous roar as its waters are forced through the narrow gorge, one of nature’s most memorable sights.
Day 1
On the arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the hotel in Entebbe town/Kampala on B&B basis.
Day 2
Early in the morning we drive northwards through the infamous Luwero triangle and stop over at hotel for lunch. Drive to the park in time to enjoy the spectacular falls where the mighty Nile perfects its beautiful falls creating a thunderous roar.
After viewing the might Nile river tumbling down this narrow chasm we embark on a 2 to 3 hour evening game drive with our knowledgeable game ranger before returning we return to our accommodation for dinner and a overnights rest in your comfortable accommodation in the park.
Day 3
Early wake up for breakfast before embarking on a boat trip to cross the mighty Nile River, the longest river in the world. Disembarking from the boat on the far bank, we board our game drive vehicle for our morning game drive in spectacular surroundings teeming with African wildlife. We spend two to three hours searching for Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Bushbucks, Lions and a wide variety of bird species. Return for lunch with time to rest before boarding the Boat for an exciting trip upstream to view the Murchison waterfalls from the bottom of the falls, where a mass of water from the mighty Nile River is compacted through a narrow 7 meter gorge to form the most powerful waterfall in the World. Many species of wildlife will be seen on the banks of this spectacular game viewing area. This is an opportunity to see the amazing numbers of hippos, crocodiles, water birds along either side of the river. Return for dinner and overnight in the park.
Day 4
After breakfast we drive through Ugandan countryside which alone is worth a trip and go for chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest. Uganda is one of the best places anywhere to see properly habituated wild chimpanzees in their natural environments. To interact with these wild Chimpanzees in their natural habitat is indeed an honour and a lifelong memory in the making. We have lunch in Masindi and return to Kampala at leisure in time for dinner and overnight in the city of Kampala.

Day 1
On the arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the hotel in Entebbe town/Kampala on B&B basis.
Day 2
Early breakfast before embarking on our trip through the now infamous Luwero triangle and the site of some of the worst atrocities in Uganda’s recent past, a past now but a distant memory. We stop off to break the journey and a well prepared lunch before continuing to Murchison National Park to exploring the park and stoppingat the top of the falls with its fantastic sight. Here the Nile, the longest river in the world, is forced through a narrow 7 meter wide gap in the rock, before a tumultuous plunge down the 43 meter abyss. Stopping at the river’s edge we embark on a ferry to across the river to your excellent accommodation on the banks of this one of the mightiest rivers on the planet and certainly one of the most historical. Overnight on a full board basis
Day 3
After breakfast we will board the game drive vehicle with your guide for an amazing morning game drive in this the largest of the Ugandan National Parks. We return to the lodge for a break before a well-earned lunch and a midafternoon rest. In the afternoon we embarking on the Boat for a cruise up stream on the Nile river to the bottom of the Murchison waterfalls to view the mass of water from the mighty Nile River as it is compacted through a narrow 7 meter gorge to form the most powerful waterfall in the world and the wildlife that packs the banks in this spectacular area. This is an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks. The bird life is truly amazing with brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. If lucky, you may see the rare and prehistoric looking shoebill, a much sought after species. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which only adds to their impact on the senses as the waters of the Nile rushes, in a thunderous roar to meet you.

Day 4
After breakfast we leave Murchison Falls National Park, driving in a Southwesterly direction via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. We continue through Hoima and reach the colorful and beautiful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Toro kingdom, One of four traditional kingdoms in Uganda and situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori. After lunch at Fort Portal we continue our journey through spectacular country side to the Queen Elizabeth National park one of the richest natural systems in the world and the African park that boasted the greatest number of bird species on its list. We arrive in time to check into our accommodation on a full board basis. This park was proclaimed in 1954, named after Queen Elizabeth of England after her visit to the country. The park is 1 978 km2’s in extent and stretches from the crater-dotted foothills of the Rwenzori mountains, along the shores of Lake Edward to the remote Ishasha river, including a wide variety of habitat from Savanna and Wetland to Tropical forest, a diversity reflected in a bird list of 605 species. We arrive in time to check in and a delicious dinner before a restful night’s sleep in our comfortable accommodation.
Day 5
This morning we will leave for the chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura gorge and an extension of the Maramagambo forest (mean unable to talk) Expect to see variety of primates, especially Chimpanzees of different species, Black and white Colobus monkeys and a wide variety of different animals, Antelopes, Hyena, Lion and many others in Grassland savanna habitat. The gorge is a home to many forest species birds.
Returning for a well prepared lunch and a chance to relax before taking an afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga channel, a wide 32 km long natural channel that flows between Lakes Edward and George, forming one of the dominant features of the Queen Elizabeth national parks and is home to one of the largest populations of Hippopotamus in the world. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, Saddle billed stork and many others.
After this wonderful afternoon, we take a slow drive back to our accommodation, dinner and a restful night’s sleep. Accommodation on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6
After breakfast transfer from Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. We will drive through the Ishasha sector in the southern sector of the park and home to the well-known tree climbing lions in wooded savannas, characterised by flat topped Acacias and Wild Fig trees Here we will stop to take lunch on the banks of the Ishasha River and try to find the famed Ishasha tree-climbing lions before continuing on to Bwindi, home to the few remaining mountain gorillas. Bird life and primate life in Bwindi is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora. Bwindi is the Bird watchers haven! It holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda and seven red data book species. We check into our accommodation have dinner and retire for a peaceful nights rest.
Day 7
After an early breakfast we meet our guides for a briefing of what we need to do while out tracking these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Soon afterwards we set off for Gorilla trekking through these dense tropical rain forests in the Bwindi (Impenetrable) forest. This is one of the most unique activities you can ever encounter and will change your outlook on life forever. Different family groups of these extremely threatened and endangered Great primates have been careful habituated to man’s presences for the purpose of eco-tourism. No more than 8 persons are permitted to be in the apes presences at a time in an effort to reduce our impact on these magnificent creatures. You will have the honor to enjoy your limited time photographing and observing these Gorillas in their homes in these thick evergreen forests. After trekking up the mountains, meeting these gentle creatures and returning back down again we arrive back at our accommodation in time to relax before dinner and a well-earned and peaceful night’s sleep in our comfortable accommodation.
Day 8
After breakfast, we will make our scenic journey through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. An area referred as the “Switzerland of Africa“. We continue to Lake Bunyonyi. This large and erratically shaped lake lies at an altitude of approximately 2000 m, where it follows the contours of the hilly terrain that separates the towns of Kabale and Kisoro. It is a very scenic spot, dotted with small islands and ringed by steeped terraced hills. Bunyonyi means “place of little birds” and it is particularly good for water birds. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat ride inside Lake Bunyonyi to which will take you to various islands inside the lake for bird viewing, sightseeing and discovering the sites of the Bakiga culture.

Day 9
After breakfast, we will depart for Kampala arriving in the late afternoon. Lunch en route in Mbarara. A stopover is made at the Equator for photography.
