South Africa has become a sought after destination with international film companies as well as Photographers on photo shoots. What makes our counrty such a desirable destination is because South Africa as an old adage once described us as “a world in one country”. And we are just that. We host all nine of the worlds biomes.
From the oldest desert in the world on the Western Sea board to tropical jungles and coral reefs on the East coast, same latitude. From the only snow ski resort in the southern Drakensberg Mountains in Africa to Whale watching on the southern Garden Route. The arid open spaces of the Karoo to Big 5 savanas of the Kruger national park. The vibrant, colourful and cosmopolitan city of Johannesburg to the cultural diversity of Cape Town, Winelands to Wheatlands. Citrus to cerial fields. The diversity is incredible and best of all affordable.
Because of our experience and knowledge of Southern Africa we at Alan Tours would like to be able to offer interested Film companies and Photographers our services to find the ideal locations from where to shoot their footage or shots.
Further to the above South Africa has a first world infrastructure. The roads, the rail, aircraft and other infrastructural systems work. Yes, of course we are not perfect, there is a perception of crime but the perception is far worse than the statistics on the ground. Ask anybody who has travelled to this country. Where is the crime? The question is often asked. As in any country in the world there are places that are worse than others. The idea is not to go to areas that are not safe and it is here, inevitably that local knowledge is of utmost importance. To date we have never had an incident, neither to ourselves nor to any of our valuable clients
